1. Information we collect
When you register, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored as a salted hash, never in plain text). Phone number and location are optional. When you create a listing, we store the vehicle details, description, price, and any photos you upload. When you message another user, we store the message content so both participants can see the conversation.
2. How your information is shown to others
Your name is visible to anyone you message, and to anyone who views a listing you own. If you add a phone number to your profile, it is shown publicly on your listings. A dealership's contact details (phone, email, website, location) are shown publicly on its approved storefront page. Your email address is never shown to other users.
3. Listing views and reports
We count how many times a listing has been viewed (not by its own owner) and show that count publicly. If you report a listing, we record your account, the reason, and any details you provide, visible only to platform administrators reviewing that report.
4. Administrative and audit records
Privileged actions taken by platform administrators or dealership managers - approving or suspending a dealership, changing a staff member's role, transferring dealership ownership, or removing a listing - are recorded in an internal audit log, visible only to platform administrators. This log exists to keep the marketplace accountable, not to track ordinary buyer/seller activity.
5. Data retention and deletion
Removing a listing hides it from public view but does not immediately erase its record - this preserves conversation history for anyone who previously messaged about it. We do not currently offer a self-service "delete my account" flow; contact the site administrator to request deletion of your account and associated data.
6. Security
Passwords are hashed, never stored or logged in plain text. Uploaded photos are validated and re-encoded before storage. We apply rate limiting to registration, login, listing creation, messaging, and reporting to reduce abuse.
7. Cookies
We use a single essential cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
